Halkan´s Rockhouse is located in the heart of the beautiful swedish town, Stockholm. We recently went to visit Jan Hallquisth and his staff in his shop. Halkans Rock House is long time supporter of Vintage & Rare and is one of the very first shops to be on V&R. The shop has a great inventory with lots of vintage guitars, basses, amps and effects. They also do repairs. So if you are in the market of a fine vintage instrument, this is a shop to keep on your gear radar. Please see the shop tour vid and pics from that visit.
Last year we did a custom order project with guitar player extraordinare, Thomas Andersson.
Thomas wanted something very unique with an offset twist. Therefore we put him in contact with german builders, Deimel Guitars.
Thomas ended up with a very cool – black sparkle 2 pickup Firestar.
Guitar player extraordinaire, Thomas Andersson, contacted us before his summer tour 2016 with an interesting custom guitar project for this specific tour.
We met up with luthier Pierre Dubré aka Dubré Guitars and came up with a JM design based on Telecaster hardware specs with bindings. We named this specific guitar JMT Custom.
On the pics below you can see Thomas play the JMT Custom on Grøn Koncert 2016 with artist; Nik & Jay.
We have been working closely with guitar player, Thomas Andersson, throughout the years on different projects. Yesterday we had the opportunity to document Thomas´s live-rig that he set up for Grøn Koncert tour 2016. This was the last show of the tour with 40.000 people in the crowd. We are happy to be able to show you up close pics of this cool rig, built by Skrydstrup. See pics below. Continue reading
