I am a formally trained luthier working out of my workshop in Stockholm, Sweden. I currently work full-time mainly focusing on building custom steel-string guitars on comission.
The first time I realized I wanted to pursue a career in luthiery was when I went to a local repair shop to get my old clarinet repaired, seeing instrument parts scattered around the workshop and the strong smell of wood made me feel like home. I later travelled and lived in Spain for a year and daily passing numerous luthier shops I felt it was time for me to fulfill my passion. I applied and was accepted to the Academy of Musical Instruments (Musikinstrumentakademien) in Stockholm.
During my three year full time studies I learned to build classical , steel-string ,archtop and electric guitars. I received my bachelor’s degree in guitar building and passed the tests with honor for my journeymans certificate as a luthier. My passion has always been with the steel-string acoustic guitar so it came naturally to me to explore it further. I also spent 3 months working as an apprentice under Jason Kostal at Kostal Guitars. I travelled to Phoenix, Arizona to work under Jason to learn the approach of building a modern steelstring guitar and how to voice a guitar for maximum responsivness . Jason is a highly respected luthier worldwide and the tonality of his guitars has influenced the work I do today.
