I have been playing guitar since around 1985 when I was a teen with supercharged hormones. I have always been a tinkerer and used to work on various and weird projects from custom racks to amp enclosures and so on. I even double boiled some wax in the kitchen to dip my pickups in. Back in those days there was no internet, no intelligent information or parts vendors to speak of, just an idea and a hometown hardware store. When you had an electric guitar that didn’t feel quite you tweaked it until you made it the way you liked it.

Fast forward 25 years and now after gigging, recording and tinkering, I have found great enjoyment from building guitars, not just any guitars, but vintage F style replicas that have various degrees of relicing and aging done to them. I like many, love and adore the look and the mojo associated with vintage instruments yet am held back from a “real” vintage instrument due to is hefty commanding price tag. Enter Danny Hines Guitars. I custom build and age T and S style vintage replicas as well as bodies complete with meticulous hardware aging and finish checking. Each guitars is made, played and tweaked individually until it feels like a piece of history.
