About: Mitio Dimitrov has been designing and building his own musical instruments since 1998, mainly focusing on violins and violas. He works with wood materials having excellent sound qualities found in the Balkan region. Above all, he prefers working with naturally dried maple and spruce of the highest quality. Furthermore, the luthier uses for the production of his instruments self-made alcohol based varnish, mixed from an own recipe. For the models of his hand-made instruments he takes ideas from the works of the great Italian masters like Stradivari, Guarneri and Ornate among others.
