Petar Esifonov Tzvetanov was born in 1958 in Sofia Bulgaria. One of his favorite places was his uncle’s workshop – the famous Bulgarian violin maker Naiden Ganchev winner of many international competitions for violin making and a winner of a golden medal for sound. In 1981 Petar Tzvetanov opens his own workshop and starts to work on his own. In 1983 he becomes a member of the Bulgarian violin makers organization and in 1986 is appointed as its secretary. For the next 9 years he works as a violin maker in the Bulgarian Musical Academy “ Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia. At that pararticular time of his life he is interested in making copies of old instruments made by famous masters. He takes part in many international competitions and wins many awards and certificates for his instruments for sound and work (in Bulgaria, Germany, USA, Poland and others)He is often invited in Germany and Italy for restoration of old and valuable instruments. At the moment he is working in his own workshop with his two sons (winners of 2,3 and 4 places in 2009 Eufonia competition for violin making in Brussels ) They are making the instruments entirely by hand and in the old traditions for this kind of art. They lacquered the instruments with natural spirit-soluble resin by an old family recipe. Many musicians are playing with instruments made by Petar Tzvetanov not only in Bulgaria but in countries like Japan, Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain, Holland, Greece, Macedonia, USA, South Africa and others…
