The Passion: Is to design a professional drum that performs as desired in all playing situations. A hand crafted drum kit or snare drum that looks great, sounds awesome, and gives the drummer a great sense of pride. To design a drum that will respond truthfully to the characteristic of the drum head, and allow a wide and deep tuning range proportional to the drum’s size, bearing edge, and hardware.

Craftsmanship

The Deal – As the shell thickness and number of ply’s change in response to the drums size, depth, and reinforcement hoops… the drums bearing edge will change slightly to compensate (you can’t just cut a simple 45 on each drum and move on…).

Bearing edges — are cut by hand to a precise 35° angle with the outside edge rounded for a added marriage between the shell and the drum head. They are then hand sanded, checked on glass, sealed, finished, and waxed. Snare drum bearing edges and snare beds get extra attention to allow for sensitivity and tone.

SRF — Special care is taken to make sure the internal ‘SRF’ or the Shell Resonance Factor is specific to the tonal qualities of the drum, shell thickness, and number of ply’s. Even the positioning of the lugs and vents will depend on the shells thickness, type of lug, bearing edge, and sound desired.

Shell interior — each shell undergoes a 5 step sealing process to maxmize warmth and tone. This includes special wood penetrating oils, Sealers, Hardeners, Lacquers, and Waxes. — The rest is a trade secret.

Choose from the following:

Your ‘SRF’ or ‘Shell Resonance Factor’. This is how the inside of the shell is finished. Warm and fat to punchy and bright.

Wrapped or Lacquer Finishes, including Gloss, Satin, Fades, and Custom Bursts.

Four types of finished bass drum hoops. (Black, Natural Maple, or finished to match your kit, with or without inlay strips).

Hoop types – heavy duty 2.3mm Stick Saver hoops are standard, but 2.3mm Triple Flanged, 4.5mm Die Cast, or Natural Maple are available.

Hardware finish – chrome, brass, black, or powder coated to your preference.

Your drum head type and weight, supplied by Evans®, Remo®, or Aquarian®.

Your mounting system and hardware.
