Paul Reed Smith has been making guitars in his company in Maryland since 1985 and has since then gained international acclaim for the quality and detail of his guitars. After all, this is the man who used ivory from the wooly mammoth to create the signature inlays on one of his guitars; all PRS guitars have birds at the high end of the fret board and moons at the low end. All the work is done in-house, from the inlays to the pickups, and the result is a very classy guitar with a polished look. PRS makes so many different guitars that a player is guaranteed to find an instrument that is a perfect match among the PRS catalogue.
