Phil Cook, the owner of Liquid Metal Guitars, likes to offer something with his instruments completely different than what any other luthier could offer. For this reason, each instrument is crafted out of aircraft aluminum (which he proudly calls “unobtanium,” a reference to the rarity of both the metal and his guitars).
The aluminum body has incredible sustainability and protects the electronics better than a wood body, and the pickups are specially-designed to go with the metal body of this hefty guitar. Each instrument takes many, many hours to produce, but the sound and feel are indeed as “one of a kind” as the look of these amazing instruments.
