Silvertone
Silvertone Heads Amps For sale
While the Danelectro Silvertone is by far the best-known, Silvertone is actually the name given to guitars that were sold by Sears, and Silvertones have been made by Danelectro, Harmony, National, Kay, and Teisco. Sears guitars bore the Silvertone name from 1940 until 1970. Harmony created the Silvertone Bobkat and Silhouette, while Danelectro created a series of Silvertones (marketed as Danelectro Silvertone and the model number). For this reason, Silvertones have a variety of designs, shapes, and sounds, and have been picked up by a number of guitarists.
Elvis Costello, Rory Gallagher, Beck, and Nels Cline have all played Silvertone guitars.
