About:

About our store

The Drum Bazar adventure started in june 1998. Now named Drum Guitar Plus, we still have the same goal: we want our clients to have a positive experience at our store.

In constant evolution

The Drum Bazar adventure started in june 1998. Nourished by a steady success, the store moves to a bigger space in 2004 and then adds guitars, basses and amps in 2007. After all these years, we are as proud as ever to offer the best of our knowledge, advice and service. Every part of our work is devoted to help both the amateur and the professional musician.

Our approach is simple: we want our clients to have a positive experience at our store. We love to meet new people and establish a relation of confidence with them. We are also aware that in such a developped and complex market, we have to be right in line with the musicians' needs, whether he's amateur, intermediate or advanced.

Drum Guitar Plus team

Our team is competent, dynamic, available and always oriented towards the musicians' needs. Each member of our team is a specialist in his field and will gladly answer your questions.

Erwan LeBrenner

Drums Specialist

Erwan was born in Sept-Îles on July 15th, 1977. He started to learn drums at the age of 15, in his high school music class. At that moment, he discovered a passion for drums, and his teacher a new talent. After 1 year of private lessons, he starts a Jazz diploma at the Alma College with teachers Richard Dallaire and Robert Pelletier, during autumn 1998. In spring 2002, he completes a specialization in Pop Musique at Marie-Victorin College in Montreal. At the end of summer 2002, he joins the Drum Bazar team as a drums and percussion specialist. He also participates in various pop-rock, black metal, death metal, hardcore projects. Since then, he also founded the band BLOODFEAST, a tribute to MISFITS and performs regularly with them. At the store, he is still an adviser and expert in drums tuning. He will surely guide you towards the right instrument for you!

Bruno Moisan

Drums Specialist & Floor Manager

Cartoon sounds and 30's jazz brought him to play drums at around 15 years of age. He is also appalled by ska, pop and alternative rock, and wanders through music bars in the city. At that point he already plays in corporative gigs.

Bruno joins the Drum Bazar team on St-Zotique street in 1999, though still very active in graphical arts. It's only in 2006 that he joins the team full-time. He is a reference for advice concerning cymbals, drumheads and other drumming secrets.

Maxime Delisle

Drums and Ukulele Teacher. Drums Specialist. Backstore.

Maxime started playing drums when he was 12 years old, and he understood very quickly that he needed to learn a lot of different styles to become a full-fledged musician. He participated in different projects, including groups playing african music, metal music, funk and jazz. In 2005, he completes a Double DEC, combining the study of drums and social sciences at CEGEP Marie-Victorin. In winter of 2010, he obtains his university diploma in music therapy at l’UQAM. Since 2004, he teaches drums and is a member of two musical projets as a drummer: Diokko, african Pop music and Noise, a funk music quartet. For his studies and his work, Maxime is always learning how to play new instruments: piano, ukulélé, and a lot of percussion instruments, to name a few. Maxime now also teaches ukulélé when he gets the time.

Micaël Decosse

Guitar Specialist

Micaël started to play guitar when he was 13 years old. Back then, his influences were closer to punk music, but soon after his tastes grew to gain more styles. Classic rock becomes his new religion, with The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and countless others. Though selftaught, after a few years of jamming with friends, he joins rock 'n' roll band ASTRO HOT. However, meeting drummer Erwan Le Brenner in 2007 completely changed the way he performed. Since then, the two musicians formed the band BLOODFEAST, to play a style aptly called horror punk. Micaël was always very interested by musical instruments and accessories, and will surely be able to answer your needs and questions!

Francis Lapointe

Director of Institutional Service & Special Events

Multi-instrumentist Francis Lapointe studied Sound Recording at Institut Trebas in 2000, and performs professionally under the scene name of Toots Macbeth. He plays guitars, lap steel, dobro and banjo for several bands, including Quebec's own folk/bluegrass band Caloon Saloon since 2005. He also plays with Dany Placard since 2007, with whom he recorded the album Placard-Macbeth, in 2009 on the label Indica. He also participates in many studio sessions and tours around Quebec and Europe. He founded his own company called Macbeth Music, which produces and distributes instructional DVDs for several folk/bluegrass instruments. Francis also works in the musical instruments' retail business since 2000 as a specialist and clinician for acoustic instruments. He now works as an assistant manager and takes care of institutional services at Drum Guitar Plus since February 2011.
