/ Gibson Johnny Smith Model, EC, OHC / 1983 / Guitar

Gibson Johnny Smith model:  Serial # 81653008, 1983, Featuring a Handcarved bookmatched solid spruce top and figured flame maple sides and neck,  ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block fingerboard and peghead inlay, 17" Lower bout, and a Scale length of 25" (635mm) a comfortable Nut width of 1 3/4" (45mm) all original hardware including gold-plated finger tailpiece, solid ebony bridge with abalone inlay in base; gold Kluson Sealfast tuners; gold floating Johnny Smith humbucking pickup with mini-jack mounted to pickguard; correct quintuple-bound tortoise pickguard.  Johnny Smith first worked with Epiphone and  Guild before joining Gibson at the end of the 1950’s. With the Gibson Staff he created one of the most sought post 1950s designed Arcthops; the Gibson Johnny Smith Model. Johnny Smith and the people from Kalamazoo managed to combine excellence from the past with innovative improvements like the floating pickup a wider neck, somewhat shorter scale and slimmer body to improve playability and that typical tone only heard in the Johnny Smith model.  This guitar is a most luxurious guitar, combining features like Body and tailpiece from the L5 cutaway model and neck and peghead from the Super 400 model.  We need to mention the most luxurious bindings that are typical for the Johnny Smith model only.

The guitar is in excellent condition,  with only little dings and playwear of 26 years of intensive playing. The guitar maybe considered “played in”  Playability is excellent with low action and the original Gibson black plush hardshell case is included.

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
