Anno Galama / TPJ Bass Telecaster-Precision-Jazz Brazilian Rosewood & Flamed Cedar / 1981 / Bass

Anno Galama TPJ Bass, Telecaster-Precision-Jazz, 1981, Brazilian Rosewood & Flamed cedar, Case, EC

What can i say, finding one like this made by Anno Galama is like finding a needle in a haystack. Only 4 were ever made, then Anno had to close business due to health problems. He's still active but never restarted his work. In the TPJ, Anno obviously tried to combine the best of all Fender style Basses, that's why for the name TPJ (Telecaster, Precision, Jazz bass) it holds all the good qualities of these Fender style basses, and more! Anno is a highly respected Luthier who stopped making guitars back in the 1980s but back in the 1970's and 1980's he worked for the Rich, the Pro's and the famous, among them for instant Jan Akkerman. Anno was known for his great knowledge of wood, and the sonic qualities of all those different tonewoods. In his stock of wood, you will find the finest and rarest.

Among them for instant extremely rare and sonic superior flamed Columbian Cedar, the wood used for top of this bass, legendary for sonic qualities but very rare and almost never available. But the most striking on this bass is of course the Brazilian rosewood body and neck, and that's a one piece neck running through the body with two brazilian wings that seamlessly melt into each-other, have you ever seen anything like this before, ever?! Tonally its majestic, never heard anything like it! Since brazilian turned over the last decade into priceless $$$$$$ proportions, you can imagine what a bass like this would cost when made now, it's simply priceless and most likely almost impossible to find wood for that is like on this Bass, Legal and High quality quarter sawn.

Perhaps needless to say - but Anno didn't put it there just to show of- , he was only following his path to perfection. His perfectionism forced him to use the best wood available. And since there is substitute for Brazilian rosewood, it had to be this. Is it heavy since it's rosewood?? no not at all, it's made in a most ergonomic way, and only weighs in at 4.2kg!  The Bass is wonderful condition, no breaks or problems, the usual playwear, but no issues. The bass is equipped with active electronics all working fine, the bass plays like a dream and is unique in - i would say - every way you look at it(!) Features include 865mm scale length and 41 mm nut-width, hardware is typical 1980s with Gibson bridge and Schaller gold Tuners, bound ebony fingerboard , super-feel and super-looks, Including heavy duty case. This is a rare collector quality bass. Consignment sale.

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
