Luthier Arthur Napolitano began building electric guitars in 1967, and offered repair services from 1978 on- in Watchung, New Jersey. Napolitano moved to Allentown in 1992, and began building archtop guitars in 1993.
This Near mint 17" archtop called "Primavera" is the top of the line built by Arthur Napolitano. A premier mastergrade instrument built in the tradition of John D'Angelico. master-grade quality, and fully hand carved from all solid woods, featuring carved flame maple back and sides, carved master-grade Sitka spruce top, 5 piece flame maple neck, bound ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge, ebony carved tailpiece as well as an ebony bound pickguard, 9-ply top binding and 6 piece back binding, pearl 'storybook' inlays on the fingerboard, Kent Armstrong floating pick-up with volume and tone controls just peaking out from under the pickguard, beautiful designed headstock with typical Napolitano inlays. The guitar is near mint condition with, wear is limited to angelhair pickguard wear, there is virtually no fretwear. 44.2mm or 1 ¾” nut width, 635mm or 25" scale length, Grover Imperial Tuning Machines.
The tone of this Archtop guitar is best described as expressive and sensitive, matured and warm, a very good companion for the fingerstyle archtop players, but equally well suitable for swing, equipped with a comfortable C shape toward D shape neck that is fast and easy. This Napolitano Primavera comes with a luxurious case.
