BSG J-31F 14 fret custom with truly shocking beautiful Cocobolo back and sides and Premium European spruce top, Other features include mahogany neck and Rosewood Bound Ebony fingerboard with herringbone purfling, Ebony bridge, matching rosewood Bound Ebony peghead with matching herringbone purfling, matching cocobolo rosewood overlay over the back of the headstock and the heel-cap. Other features include dark rosewood bound body, Herringbone trim and rosette, all bindings on back and sides are sided by black/white purfling. More important is the sound, and that holds the middle between European and American character, the best of both worlds, piano like clear on single string approach, but also powerful and warm when strummed or played with Plectrum. The J Body size is about what other makers would refer to as Grand Auditorium. BSG GJ body size is the real Jumbo size. The tone of this guitar is big and powerful, but also very balanced and suitable for fingerstyle, possibly the most versatile of all models.
Once you discovered this very rare high quality small brand from the Czech republic there is a good chance you get addicted to BSG guitars. They still build guitars at a very acceptable price level since wages in the Czech Republic aren't quite what they are in the US and the Rest op Europe. Tonally they are somewhere between the character of Lowden and Martin, due to their structure and long scale also very suitable for drop-tunings. Other features include 14 frets clear to the body, 43.8 mm (1 23/32") width at the nut, 650mm (25.5") scale length and 56mm fingerspacing at the bridge. The guitar is equipped with Gotoh tuners and LR Baggs pickup. This guitar is pre-owned, but we send it back to BSG for a small factory overhaul.
