BSG / OM-45-F Hawaiian Flamed KOA-Hawaiian Flamed KOA / 2013 / Guitar
BSG OM-45-F (New) Hawaiian flamed KOA-Hawaiian flamed KOA, tone machine, Case
From a historical point of view the 'Bavaria Area' -holding parts of the Czech Republic where Jan Stovicek and BSG originate from, including parts of Austria, South-Eastern Germany and the Northern parts of Italy- was actually the birthplace of the Guitar - actually Christian Frederic Martin 1 originates from this area. This area was known for being the world-centre of instrument-making, that's before we started fighting each-other in several wars! Now we are on the way back, and i'm sure you won't be able to find a OM under €4000 with the specification of this wonderful OM-45F that is made on a high level of craftsmanship! Our connection to BSG, more personally Jan Stovicek from Zamberk, Czech Republic, started a good number of years ago when Jan visited our shop. BSG Guitars are different, tonally impressive and the workmanship is how we like, detailed to perfection. This OM-45F we present here is a unique guitar, Jan never made before, and features beautifully grained All Hawaiian Koa Top, back and sides. Although Jan's style is more traditional American, and tonally they are quite different from each-other, i like to compare them to Lowden guitars. Since i feel Jan's guitars are -when used fingerstyle close to the Piano like Quality Lowden is famous for. But BSG guitars are also great for strumming. Being from the Czech Republic the BSG price level is very competitive, since pay-checks in CZ are still very low compared to the rest of Europe..
Regarding the guitar, it features Flamed/Curly Hawaiian back and sides, matched to a Hawaiian Koa top, Mahogany neck, dark unbound ebony fingerboard, slotted headstock with amazing torch inlay, ebony bridge - and it is a complete package - Jan included our favourite K&K Pure mini pickup that sounds amazing in this guitar. The body is bound with a Rosewood binding, the guitar is beautifully decorated with an Abalone trim and wide abalone soundhole ring, snowflake style 45 fingerboard inlays.
For the fingerstyle player this must be a dream-guitar with 44.5mm(1 3/4") width at the nut, 650mm(25.5") scale length and 58.5mm (2 5/16") fingerspacing at the saddle, not to wide and suitable for any style, the neck profile is a modest (not thin) C shape that reminds of Lowden guitars also. Tonally it's truly amazing and brings out the best of Koa, with a sweetness and warmth you expect from Koa, but it's not 'thin' in the bass like many Koa guitars are, no it projects strong mids, strong bass response, and bell like trebles, it's very open and with warmness typical for Koa. when strummed it boasts the projection and tonal clarity BSG is known for, while still maintaining significant warmth on the bottom end. The OM size is more focused and defined compared to a typical dreadnought size, however it projects like a canon, and looking for a versatile guitar, this guitar is truly a winner, but the typical OM qualities are there, the somewhat deeper body handles flatpicking very well, and the headroom is virtually unlimited. And yes it is very comfortable to hold when played on the couch. Aside from the tonal benefits, it is an especially attractive guitar to look at. Comes with Case. Includes 21% BTW/VAT/MWST and 5 years of BSG warranty. A standard case is included.

The Fellowship Of Acoustics, Netherlands
ABOUT US
I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
