Braun & Hauser / Hermann Hauser I And Mr. Braun, Munich Model / 1905 / Guitar
1905 Braun & Hauser, Hermann Hauser I and Mr. Braun, Munich model, OHC,
Hermann Hauser I, son of Josef Hauser was destined to do great things and working along side Segovia he made one the most famous guitars of the previous century. Ok, Jimi Hendrix 'white' and Eric Clapton's 'blackie' come more to mind in terms of fame in current time perception, but looking back in a century i'm quite sure things have changed. This son of a luthier and zither maker was born in 1882 and graduated from the State School for Violin Making in Mittenwald around 1900. When his father Josef lost an Arm in a accident, he had to sell his workshop to Mr. Steigenberger. And Herman, working at the workshop, came along in the contract specifying that he had to work there for 5 or 6 years. The same Mr. Steigenberger also purchased Mr. Braun's workshop and so the new workshop was called 'Braun und Hauser'.
Hermann being the centerpoint of the Braun & Hauser, the workshop seems to have dissapeared after Hermann left the shop. This classical guitar is what became later known to be Hermann Hauser's 'Munich Model'. A very small guitar, but tonally complex and balanced, with a strong bass response and truly very good seperation. Hermann Hauser always crafted guitars with the genius of a true artist, also found in this wonderful small guitar. The back, sides, and neck are of maple, the sides are flamed. The top is likely German spruce. It comes with a rosewood fingerboard, ebonised headstock and neck, ebony bridge, Rosewood binding and 6 ply top binding, measures only 600mm scale length, 45mm width at the nut and a comfortable 56mm string spacing at the bridge, Original tuners. Condition. Except for two repaired cracks, this guitar is in excellent condition. Of course it gathered some wear and tear over the years, but it's a very fine specimin of German Guitar makers history and a rare chance to find one. comes with possibly the original bag, but we added a very solid parlor case.

ABOUT US
I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
