Burns / Marvin / 1964 / White / Guitar
This was bought from a New York collector who claimed this was the personal guitar of Han B Marvin himself. However, I have no way of verifying this - perhaps Mr Marvin could contct us to confirm or deny?
This is a VERY NICE original 1964 or early 1965 Burns Marvin electric guitar in white which has a hard shell case.
I know next to nothing about these guitars so what you see is what you get! I can tell the finish is original, the solder is undisturbed and everything looks and smells right as far as I can tell with my research. The serial number falls in the correct range for 1964 or early 1965 and the only issue I can see is there a bit of wood taken off the side of the routing by the switch although I am not sure if this was done at the factory or after it was sold - it looks to be a very old mod.
All electrics including 3 way switch and the 3 amazing sounding classic pickups work great and you do tend to get an instant Hank Marvin sound from it! Trem works well too and action is superbly low with a beautiful, dark rosewood fingerboard. Original frets and fingerboard are both in excellent condition with not much wear.
There are a few dings here and there plus some lacquer checking but it is not too bad at all. There is also a small amout of wear on the back but again, nothing too bad. Please see pictures.
Case is in good condition and is newer than the guitar.
