C. F. Martin & Co / 0-18T Tenor Guitar / 1944 / Natural / Guitar

This example of this ultra rare 0-18T Tenor 4 string guitar was built in 1944, one of a total of 60 shipped that year. It incorporates typical post-war Martin style 18 features including nice mahogany on the back and sides, a great straight-grained spruce top, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge and black celluloid body binding. The neck is mahogany with a very slim profile, the fingerboard inlay is mixed size dots and the tuners are open back individual Grover with white buttons. This is a very rare example having the last of the Martin “Scalloped” braces as used on its larger D-18 sibling. This lil Tenor has seen some use as seen by the pick wear on its top. It is an excellent fingerpicker’s instrument but also has a lot of punch and clarity as a straight rhythm machine as well. Its got no cracking anywhere & is ready to play & enjoy. Overall she’s excellent & comes in its very rare Black tolex/purple lined case w/its original metal slider lock that holds the case open. 1st time we’ve seen this.
