C. F. Martin & Co / 00-21 / 1944 / Natural / Guitar

Martin 00-21, 1944, Serial #89253, vg

Rare model, 36 made in 1944. Adirondack red spruce top, 1 7/8“ neck with ebony bar, scalloped bracing. Allover in played vg+ condition but with restoration work at the bridge area including a new correct bridge and new bridge plate replacing an oversized bridge and a damaged original bridge plate. Neck reset and refret also in our workshop with a new EI nut and bridge saddle. Structurally very solid now, finish touched up but no overspray. Pickguard inside crack repaired and glued. Original “late 1944 finish“ which appears less clear all over and milky over the pickguard. Beautiful and very well working Waverly tuners, perfect straight neck, excellent playability and superb big tone, surprisingly full and rich all over with great response and volume. Hc.

Hc.

Through building their own guitars in the style of traditional American steel string guitars and through specializing in the restoration and repair of American pre-war instruments, they realized how similar these guitars were to the traditional German guitars in construction and materials.

Their new Tuebingen workshop opened in 1996. As aficionados of old American guitars, they have been creating many replicas of these wonderful instruments, authentic not only in their looks, but also in design and construction.

In addition to that, Blazer & Henkes are also specialists for the creation of modern guitar design, delicate pearl inlays as well as for restoration and repair work of vintage guitars.

Also, you will usually find an exquisite selection of vintage instruments in their shop.
