This is an amazing find & a great example of what Martin specialized in…making such fabulous sounding Dreadnaught models of all types. This is a very special 56 year old D-28 in imaculate all original shape. This is the last of the coolest D-28’s having a super clean very grainy Spruce top w/the very last of the Tortoiseshell pickgards prior to going w/a black Pickgard that often curled up over time. Its bookmatched Brazilian Rosewood back & sides are simply one of the best we’ve ever seen w/colorful stripes down both back panels. Its absolutely crack & repair free w/no pickgard shrink crackles at all. Its 1 piece mahogany neck feels very comfy, plays great & has a perfect neck angle. Its Ebony fingerboard & bridge are also perfect w/no issues. Its original Grover tuners hold tune well. This is a dream guitar for most anyone seriously wanting the best there is. Other than a few chips in the lacquer here & there, she’s truly exceptionally clean overall & comes in its original shaped Black tolex/gray lined hard case
