I remember back in the day, when those 3/4 sized Carvin catalogs would arrive in the mail, I'd stop what I was doing and leaf through the book, checking out all the cool instruments, colors and options. On more than one occasion, I'd construct my dream bass over and over, but when when it came time to call Carvin and place my order, I didn't do a dang thing because I was broke as hell.
Flash forward to today; I see those old Carvin guitars all over then place when I attend guitar shows and they still impress to this day. They are quality, well-made American instruments that have easily stood the test of time. As to this LB-70, folks, it's a lot of horsepower for under a grand.
This is a fairly tidy bass and it has the requisite light surface scratches and small dings for an instrument that was made back in the '90s. Now let's get to the blue elephant in the room; The noticeable bonk on the butt of this bass looks like a former owner got into a fight with his drummer's cymbal and lost that fight. Having witnessed this occurrence in person, it seems like a reasonable explanation to me.
This LB-70 has been detailed, restrung with fresh strings and set up for optimal playability. We also scrubbed the case and vacuumed it out so that there will be no surprised when you open it.
