Collings DS3BaaaA, Marking the 12000th guitar made by Collings, Serial number #12000, Many dreadnought players consider a 12 fret Dreadnought the ultimate Picking monster. And in General the Collings 12 fret Dreadnought is considered unmatched. Concluding this extremely rare Collings DS3BaaaA must be the holy grail 12 fret dreadnought of the era we live in! And unless you are willing to pay the 100.000€ price tags for pre-1934 Martin 12 fret or the handful ever made Golden Era Reproduction made by Martin, you will Not find a match for this extremely rare DS3BaaaA. Perhaps even outdoing the oldies, considering Collings are constructed with all the knowledge and experience Bill Collings gathered over all the years he's now been working on the creation of the Collings Myth. Also this DS3BaaaA is a rarer species than any Pre-war herringbone dreadnought, and will likely sound the same after 75 years of playing, and I wouldn't doubt it will continue growing value in a similar way knowing these are no longer available from Collings.
The incredible set of AAA grade Brazilian Rosewood used for back and sides is of a stunning quarter sawn quality that it could easily be mistaken for Indian rosewood unless you've double checked. Take the time to take a close look since this is wood that is harvested many decades ago and shows great similarity with Martins pre-1950s back & sides. Brazilian rosewood brings out the best in guitars. Its dynamics are unmatched by any other tone-wood. The deep dark bottom growl, the warmth and that certain extra tonal dimension that makes every tone sound more intense. The red spruce/Adirondack is simply grained perfect.
Most striking when you play the guitar is its incredible deepness. It will never give in, and the DS3BaaaA will invite you to explore its endless dynamic range. The visual beauty of the wood, don't prepare you for the power and headroom this guitar provides you with, yet typically for 12 fret body sized dreadnoughts it is very suitable for fingerstyle playing, and often these guitars are bought for their impressive balanced projection with seemingly unlimited dynamic range. The brazilian rosewood provides a deepness and richness in both the low end as well as in the trebles, trebles that are amazing in terms of smoothness and piano-like shimmering.
This guitar features 12 fret body, Brazilian rosewood mastergrade AAA back and sides, Adirondack red Spruce top, ivoroid bound body, multiple b/w purfling and abalone rosette, ivoroid bound ebony fingerboard with custom snowflake inlays, Ivoroid bound brazilian rosewood slotted peghead with pearl Collings logo, Gold Waverly tuners, moderate V neck profile, a slightly wider spacing at the saddle with a 46mm (1 13/16″) width at the nut. The neck on this guitar doesn’t have the chunky baseball feel but is only a tad larger compared to the standard profile, but with fingerstyle 60mm (2 3/8") fingerspacing at the bridge, making it very comfortable for flatpicking/fingerstyle. 650mm (25.5") scale length, Collings no long offers Brazilian Rosewood in its standard range or specs-list, that's why this minty Guitar! (no signs of wear whatever) is rare and will only grow further value. That is also the reason why these unique instruments are only available pre-owned. This guitar comes with its original Hardcase.

The Fellowship Of Acoustics, Netherlands
ABOUT US
I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand.
