The reason we became Collings dealer is that these Houston, Texas, U.S.A.-made instruments are quality-wise so good that we simply couldn't resist. The I-35 is a magnificent example of this ingenious high-end guitar making. Perfection all over, from the tip of the head, to the endpin, not to forget the perfect fitting and protecting quality Case. The quality is of such an incredible high level - both Cosmetically and Tonally- that it is hard to resist these great instruments. This guitar is obviously a ES-335 model, but that's also were the similarity ends. It's much more.... it's custom made with premium Solid carved woods, a mastergrade carved maple top, extra quality honduras mahogany body. Custom on this guitar are the hand-picked quilt maple top, Extra dense Madagascar Rosewood fretboard of the very highest quality available in the Collings Factory, Parallelogram position markers, the Black & White top purfling to accentuate the beautiful also custom ordered Tiger Eye Sunburst, also the 43.5mm nut width (1 23/32") is extremely comfortable and must consider a custom option although we didn't order it! Other features include 6105 Dunlop frets, Bound ebony headstock overlay with Collings logo inlay in pearl.
This guitar is well thought after and about the best 'ES-335' you can get on the planet. Consider it an investment in yourself, a privilege to own one, as this guitar is not simply another instrument, the I-35 is the utmost attractive hollow-body (with centre-block) guitar available on the planet these days, with wide, vintage-style neck perfectly dressed frets, Plekked of course for perfect intonation, since perfection at Collings doesn't stop with great looks only, and playability has the utmost attention, the small details like the ivoroid knobs and trussrod cover, the binding, exceptional smooth turning pots and selector switch. This is what you might consider the D-45 of the Hollow-body world. It's sophisticated, does anything for you, Jazz if you want it to, but also allows you to use as the ultimate rock-machine.
