Any Collings F-Style Mandolin is a serious, incredibly well-made instrument. Its stunning “Honey Amber” finish is lovely w/its bound Adirondack Spruce top. This one is a cut above a “regular” MF, having the optional gloss finished top and headstock w/their sprecial “Honey Amber” finish w/stunning quilted & flamey Maple on its carved back, matching sides & ridiculously flamey soft V shaped neck. Its Scroll shaped headstock has a beautiful dark veneer sporting the pearl script Collings logo. Its chop is bright & piano-like. Now 13 years of old age & she shows a bit of play time mostly at the 2nd fret back of its neck. Otherwise she’s really clean & is & will become one of their best MF’s. She’s excellent overall & comes in its original black shaped hard case.
