Collings OM-2HA VN in Rosewood & Adirondack spruce with Vintage now Neck and VARNISH finish. Looking for that ONE guitar that can replace all your others? Well our advice: Look no further, this guitar does it all. It's gracious, it's punchy, it's balanced, and touches your guitar soul every time you lay hands on it. It's the ultimate Rosewood/Adirondack OM model. The Varnish finish is 3 day job for one person, and is providing a ultra thin very flexible protection that results in ultimate resonance and projection. Very similar to Shellac finish, but just a tadd different.
The varnish provides a number of qualities as for instant a bigger punch and overall response too light touch, increased projection, faster response time, making this guitar suitable for almost everyone, as it projects like a canon, and seems to have endless headroom. The Rosewood used on this guitar is how you like it, even, bookmatched, and a bit more selected judging from the grain structure. The Adirondack spruce top is not to wide and not to small, hence open and projective, crisp in the bass, the neck is 'Vintage Now' profile, hence the "VN" added to the name, meaning modified V neck profile with 44.5mm (1 3/4") nut width, and 57.5mm (2.1/4") String spacing at the bridge, It's not a 'Fat' neck, just a bit more spacing for your right hand. The somewhat yellowish Varnished guitars are visually spectacular and tonally the most impressive you probably ever heard.
