We checked out the descriptions and prices of the other SoCo Deluxe's currently available and in almost every instance, the text is merely copied from the Collings website and the price is over 5k. But not so fast, my friends! You all should know by now that things are much different here in 'Elkland and we once again refuse to conform to the norm. The best way to describe this guitar is to imagine you are holding the finest ES- 335 ever made in the history of man. The finish is perfect, the color is deep and the quilt is a mesmerizing 3-D. You look around a room full of amps and settle on a Roland Jazz Chorus 120. Now, plug this guitar in and as the Lollar humbuckers come to life, you realize that you are holding one of the most exquisite semi- hollowbody guitars ever crafted. Simply put, those boys down in Texas at the Collings family are not fooling around and we suspect that in the years to come, the early examples of these guitars will be highly sought after and why not? Paul Reed Smith started out building guitars out of furniture and look how "in demand" those early guitars are. In comparison, these Collings are superior in every aspect and now I'm looking at Lee in a real funny way because we've never actively sought these guitars out. This SoCo and the CL Deluxe we have are our first representations of Collings guitars and if our hunches are correct, they darn sure won't be the last. Get it better and get it at a better price here at the home of the Bandit and the Snowman. Surely you all know where that comes from...
