Conklin / Custom Fretless 8-string Bass / 1998 / Flamey Maple / Bass

The recent boutique Bass market has many great builders today that are very inventive. One builder in particular is Mike Apperson at Conklin Guitars. They reinvented the multi string bass market in the mid-90’s & we have 3 distinctive basses for sale as we speak. This example is a 1998 Custom 8-String Bass made w/a solid figured flamey Maple body. The 8-string Fretless neck is gorgeous w/a multi-scale Macassar Ebony fingerboard has fanned cheat lines made from maple. Its 1 huge Bartolini pickup sounds incredible w/no controls on its body & she’s finished off w/all Gold hardware. Very special ordered, its headstock is dated & verified by Conklin to 4/98. This is a full blown Custom Shop Bass made in Springfield, Missouri.  It’s truly near mint & comes in a nice factory soft case.
