The Cornell-Rambler's  switchable channel has a high and low input that is switched between clean and overdrive using a foot pedal. It has independent tone controls to ensure full control over both clean and overdrive tones. The Cornell-Rambler covers a range of amplifier types because the Cornell-Rambler chassis can be custom assembled with a variety of transformers and valves to create different output types. Depending on your choice of valves, the Cornell-Rambler can output from 15 watts to 40 watts. At 15 watts output, the standard Cornell-Rambler ranges between a home and a gigging amp. At 15 watts it is not loud enough to cut through the noise of a loud drummer, but otherwise is suitable for small club and pub gigs provided a small amount of break up is acceptable. If you play blues to rock and don't require lots of clean head room this amp will do nicely.

The Cornell-Rambler 15 Combo contains the unique and original design feature:

The Cornell-Cream Box
Complementary push-pull class "A" output has been used in many renowned amplifiers throughout the history of guitar amplification. The problem with this basic circuit, which has remained common to all manufacturers with some minor differences, was one of unequal current flow through each output valve and unacceptable crossover distortion. At high output levels the problem is accentuated and results in a fuzzy sound.
We have corrected the design and resolved the problem by balancing the output and reducing the crossover distortion. This results in a much smoother sound at high output levels, the output having very little crossover distortion. The difference can be seen and measured on an oscillocope.
We have encapsulated the components and called it the Cornell-Cream Box which describes the output tone. We now use this circuit in all of our complementary Class "A" push-pull output designed amplifiers.
