DiMauro, Antoine / Antoine DiMauro Special Chorus Restored 1950s Rare Gypsy Guitar Natural / Guitar

This little beauty is a unique instrument. The label states "Rest. Hannier 2001", but the guitar certainly looks older. After some research it became clear that Mr Hannier restored this guitar in 2001 rather than building it from scratch. The neck shape and construction make it clear that it is a 1950s  DiMauro Special Chorus. From a Forum discussion we learned mr. Hannier restored it and replaced the table and refinished the guitar.  The guitar features a big and chunky neck to start with, solid spruce top, maple back and sides, maple neck with black finish, original 3 on a plate tuners and original tailpiece, Ebony bridge and Ebony Fingerboard with big Pearl diamond inlays. Customized (probably by mr. Hannier) with custom inlay on the headstock. Overall the guitar is in excellent Condition with no cracks whatsoever, very clean and mostly original parts, including tailpiece and likely the bridge also, the playability is excellent. 45mm neck width, 640mm short scale what makes playing very comfortable, It has the Bark and attack you like to hear in a vintage Gypsy jazz guitar, Superb Volume and woodiness, open and vibrant, all the right Gypsy jazz dymanics. This is a great sounding and playing example of one the rarest DiMauro's gypsy guitars on the planet that find more and more appreciation among collectors and players. Among others Eric Clapton and Pat Metheny are proud owners of one of these very rare guitars, also Django had one like this and this model accompanied him during the funeral. comes with a case. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
