Epiphone Broadway (1946) 17 3/8" Archtop, sunburst, Case, VG/EC
1946 Epiphone Broadway, serial #54732, featuring a solid hand-carved Spruce top and widely figured hand carved maple back and sides, 17 3/8" body width, 43.6mm (1 23/32") neck width, 650mm (25.5") scale length, cherry neck with 3-ply walnut/maple centre-stripe, rosewood fingerboard and original maple bridge foot with a later rosewood bridge, bound ebony peghead with Pearl Vine inlay, ebony fingerboard with pearl/abalone block inlays, multiple bound body and bound fingerboard and headstock, All original gold hardware including original Frequensator tailpiece and Epiphone logo tuners. This guitar is restored from one large top-crack and a sloppy refin, the crack is invisibly repaired and the finish is quality nitrocellulose refin by Roman Zajicek. The overall condition is excellent, the frets are still original and the fretboard is played but still excellent condition with excellent frets. Like every early Epiphone Archtop, this was about the best you could buy in the back in the days and to our believes it still belongs to the best ever made archtop guitars with exceptional power, resonance and clarity. we set it up with 013 strings and it's available as a workhorse again. The case looks like a vintage original.
