Epiphone / Deluxe A212 / 1959 / Shaded Finish / Guitar
Meet our 1959 Epiphone DeLuxe A212 Archtop Acoustic guitar, serial# A-1807, in "Shaded Finish" as Epi called it. Second only to the Emperor with a slightly smaller tone chamber, but still in the large-size professional class of guitars, and containing many of the same fine quality features. Built to exacting standards with close-grain, Spruce top and curly Maple sides and back. Headplate and Rosewood fingerboard are tastefully inlaid with beautiful Mother-of-Pearl. The graceful neck consists of three hardwood laminations for quality control. Enclosed gear machine heads for easy tuning and maintain an absolute pitch Frequensator-style tailpiece compensates treble and bass frequencies and derives the ultimate tone value from each string. All metal accessories are beautifully plated with a heavy Gold plate. The guitar is missing its guard, but doesn't hurt the eye without it. There was a repair done to the top way back when and it has held quite well. The guitar has typical scratches and scuffs. Remember, she's over 60 years old! The tip of the tailpiece looks like it was cut (very well, we might add) to make room for what looks like a pickup at one point. This beauty comes with its original Lifton hardshell case.
