Epiphone / E230TDV Casino / 1965 / Royal Tan / Guitar
The Epiphone Casino was produced during the ‘60s by Gibson/CMI in Kalamazoo and is the Epiphone equivalent of the Gibson ES-330. Apart from the headstock shape the dimensions, feel and used materials of the Casino are very similar. The main differences between the models were the available colours and the typical Epiphone ‘Tremar’ vibrato tailpiece, that was available as an upmarket option.
This 1965 Casino has two typical Epiphone features: it has both the ‘Royal Tan’ light sunburst finish and it was factory fitted with the Tremar vibrato system. This guitar sounds and plays absolutely great for british invasion pop, alt.country or blues/jazz.
It appears a headstock break happened long ago but this was very professionaly repaired, where even a veneer was placed to hide any glue lines. The bridge was replaced with a Gotoh nickel TOM that has gained some nice patina over the years. The strap buttons were replaced with Schaller security lock buttons. The original case is long gone but a modern TKL case is included with the sale.
