Epiphone / Sorrento / 1961 / Natural / Guitar
The folks at Epiphone/Gibson must like this model because they reissued a 50th Anniversary edition of it. This is the original Sorrento and a pretty early one. Bikini logo, dot markers and four digit serial make it a 61. These are not common at all in the natural finish and are probably the best value in a thinline humbucker equipped vintage guitar. Especially if the natural finish is what you're after. Really, nothing else is even close. 125's and 225's are great but they have P90s. Natural 175's are great too but it's not a thin body and they cost at least three times as much. Issues? It once had Grovers but correct Klusons are back on. There is a repaired hole in the pick guard and the pickups have no stickers which isn't unusual for mini hum buckers. There is a stable and inconsequential stress crack in the rim at the jack. Really nice Stone hard case.
