Ernie Ball / Limited Edition Axis, 1 Of 5 Made / 2006 / Gloss Black / Guitar
I remember when those great Ernie Ball EVH guitars came out and had no idea what they would eventually be worth. And, this was 34 years ago if you want to see how quickly time passes by. The rarest color, at only 16 pieces made was black and that's exactly what drew me to this guitar at the recent Fall Philly Show.
I purchased this guitar directly from Ernie ball, where it had sat in it's box until this year, when they began to bring some of their back stock out of the vault to the major guitar shows. You could actually walk up to their booth and play an 18-year-old, new old stock guitar and that's what I did with this Axis. It looks like it was made yesterday, with the exception of a few very light surface scratches (from general handling) and tiny pintip spots on the back. We all know how a highly gloss black guitar reveals its wrinkles and crow's feet.
This Axis still retains its original strings and set up from the EB factory and we have left it as it was produced. It is one of only five made in this color, with gold hardware and matching headstock. While no guitar is perfect, this is absolutely the cleanest example of a black Axis available at this time.
If those 16 black EVH guitars are considered rare, what does that make this one of five? Exactly. This package includes the guitar, original case w/case candy and although no pictured, the original shipping box.
We like the cool, odd, and unusual around here, so please take a look at the photos, let us know if you have any questions and as always, we thank you for stopping by!
