Jacques Favino Enrico Macias Modell, (1977) Flame Maple-Cedar, #588, Case, EC Gypsy guitars from Jacques Favino’s workshop from the 70ies are more than rare today. Coincidently 4 of them found the path to our shop. This very special # 588 Enrico Macias is perhaps the rarest of all, a much sought after model, i have been looking for throughout my career but have never been able to find so far. And what a fine example! The guitar is from the famous "Golden Era" of Favino workshop in the '70ies and the classic Favino label is personally signed by Jacques Favino. The guitar has everything you expect from a vintage Favino: attack, powerful punch, clarity and a thick, dry sound, the maple adds a brightness, but since it matured so well over the years, it's not harsh, but more round matured. This Favino is equipped with Big Tone by RF Charlé, well known in the circuit, and equipped with Volume and tone Control. The neck is, as with all Favino guitars, five piece Maple and rosewood slices, and therefore very stable. The top is a lovely aged Cedar that is from my perception the ultimate combination with the Laminated flame maple back and sides. The guitar still is in excellent condition after 40 years, and i have to say, that's quite rare.. No Cracks at all, all original finish, excellent playability and great tone are all part of this great package. Some modest play-wear is there and ageing of the top, A characteristic guitar with great looks, original SB tuners with white knobs, no repairs. To my opinion this is one of the finest and definitely rarest Favino we ever stocked. The sound of #588 is unique, warm and bright at the same time, with a bark unheard, and a crispness and attack everybody is looking for. 665mm Scale length, 43mm width at the nut.
