Favino / Jacques Petite Bouche Brazilian / 1984 / Guitar For Sale

The guitar’s construction reflects Favino’s renowned attention to detail. The aged spruce top provides the brightness and crisp attack typical of gypsy jazz guitars, while the laminated Brazilian rosewood back and sides add richness and resonance. Built during a time when Jacques began to step back and Jean-Pierre started to contribute, this guitar represents a unique blend of their talents. The instrument offers the signature Favino "bark," along with the matured tonal qualities of an instrument that has aged beautifully. This particular guitar remains in excellent condition with only deeper playwear visible on the body, which has been covered by a pickguard to prevent further wear. There are no cracks in the instrument, and it has undergone a partial refret to ensure smooth playability. It includes two small bridge shims in the case, allowing for easy action adjustments. The action is currently set to a comfortable medium-low height, making it a joy to play. The tone of this Favino is remarkable, delivering everything players expect from the brand: bright attack, punchy projection, and a dry, clear sound perfect for gypsy jazz. Its sonic versatility is complemented by the instrument’s age, which has brought out even more dynamic qualities. Whether used for rhythm or lead, this guitar offers a distinctive voice, combining the clarity of a vintage instrument with the reliability of modern modifications. Though it does not come in its original case, this 1984 Jacques Favino includes a newer hardshell case for safe transportation. The combination of father Jacques’ craftsmanship and son Jean-Pierre’s emerging influence makes this Petite Bouche a standout in the Favino lineage, offering exceptional tone, playability, and history for both collectors and musicians alike.

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
