Very Good condition, 7,5/10, the weight is 3,3kg (7,27lbs), the serial numbers on 1957 Strats is usually 16000-25000 so this number (22224) falls right in there, including original shellac finished and beautifully naturally aged side pocket tweed hardcase with the name DAVE in large letters on the lid, this guitar checks all the boxes for the perfect late 50 s Strat including a thin 2-tone sunburst nitro finish with all the normal wear that you would expect including some belt buckle wear on the back and some case wear on the upper horn, a soft v-shaped maple neck, ABS white plastic parts (ABS replaced the Bakelite plastic of 1954-1956), an 8-screw pickguard and all original factory parts including the black bottom single coil pickups (with correct rubber spacers) with that measure bridge 5,59kOhm, middle 5,64kOhm and neck 5,52kOhm, Stackpole pots (only one has a visible date, 304704, 4th week of 1957) but all solder joints are untouched so nothing has been replaced, the only deviations from factory specs/condition that we can find are: 1: the guitar has been refretted with regular frets and when this was done the finish on the fingerboard has been professionally touched up to the edges (probably because the finish becomes brittle over time and when the old frets were removed the finish chipped a little bit2: the solder joints on the volume pot and the output jack have most likely been heated to remove the pickguard assembly, not sure why3: the volume knob is bakelite (a softer type of plastic used on the earlier Strats and rarely into jan/feb of 1957 but probably not into April) but is still a real original 50 s Strat knob
