Excellent condition, 8/10, 100% original parts, neck stamp 1MAR63B, curved rosewood fingerboard, pots dated 9th week of 1963, clay dots, untouched neck with original CAR matching headstockbut the body has been professionally refinished in 2021, this guitar came to us from the original owner who bought it brand new at the music store Hagstrom Musik in Halmstad in 1963, and he then used it with a touring band until 1969 when he put it in the case until we bought it. When we got it we noted that the body had been oversprayed with Dakota Red at some point (possibly by the Hagstrom factory before he bought it since he was not aware of this) but the original Candy Apple Red with silver undercoat was underneath. It was however not possible to sand down the top coat to reveal the original paint (probably because it was done too soon after it left the factory so the 2 layers had melted together) so Erik Almstrom at EA Gitarrlack who did the fantastic work for us decided to only save the original finish in the cavities but to sand down the body to the wood and start over with correct silver undercoat to achieve a beautiful Candy Apple Red to simulate what it looked like when it left the Fullerton factory in the spring of 1963, including original Swedish Jarna hardcase as supplied by distributor Hagstrom
