Fender / Custom Shop 1956 Stratocaster / 2011 / Sherwood Green / Guitar

This Custom Shop Strat has a nice mixture of old and newer features. While the nice lightweight body has been aged quite convincingly with long checking lines but only minor wear, the beautifully subtly flamed neck has a more comtemporary fret size and radius that make this a very easy to play guitar. The Klein Epic ’56 pickups have a nice wiry sound to them but are hooked up to a 5-way switch so all the famous Stratocaster sounds are easy to dial in.

Overall this instrument shows some very nice woods and tasty aging, with added modern playability and versatility that makes it suitable for a lot of different playing styles.

Specifications:

  • Body: Light / medium relic finish
  • Neck: " AA" Flame quarter sawn maple neck and fretboard with a 10/56 V-profile (.880" at 1st fret, .980" at 12th fret), 1 5/8” wide bone nut, 9.5” radius, and dot inlays. 6105 Dunlop fret wire.
  • Hardware: Kluson-style tuners, five-way pickup selector switch, volume and tone controls
  • Pickups: Klein Epic Series '56 pickups (neck 5.8k, middle 5.9k, bridge 5.7k)
  • Cosmetic Condition: The light relic finish gives this Strat a nice worn-in look with some light checking lines and wear around the sides and back. The neck is only relic'd very minorly along the sides of the fretboard but overall it is clean and glossy. The headstock has some minor aging as well. Overall this Custom Shop Strat is looking great with tons of vintage vibe!
  • Playability: The set-up is nice and low, it plays great, and the strings ring out clearly across the board.
  • Modifications/Repairs: Original pickups (J. Cruz) were replaced (with Klein Epic '56 pickups) and are not included. Comes with an additional white relic'd 3-ply pickguard.
  • Weight: approx. 3.4 kg / 7.49 lbs
  • Case: Original hardshell with COA and case candy
