Thanks to a great and very helpful gentleman, Mr. Peter Ball, we now know that this Tele was the 20th Masterbuilt guitar ever made. We have included a picture of the original log sheet showing this guitar as being custom ordered by Bill Largent and finished for him in 1990. We confirmed this fact with Mr. Jimmy Wallace at the Dallas Guitar show this year. It's also sandwiched in between guitars made for Robert Cray and A.R. Duchossoir. What a great and historical piece! Now, back to the regular channel and description; This guitar is an item of "balance" in that, the details of the piece balance it out to truly being exactly what it is. Here's what I mean; The package is complete as from the factory except for the fact that the COA is missing. Nothing we could ever do about that- it was just not there when we purchased the guitar and there is not a ding dong thing we can do about it. But, to balance that out, the guitar is the 20th Masterbuilt guitar ever made. As my tall business partner says whenever I ask about a missing certificate, "Knock off a dollar and call me in the morning." I personally think the trade- off is even in this case because there is absolutely no question as to what this guitar is and in the microcosmically rare event that the new owner is actually buying this guitar to play, I'll refer to yet another quote from the tall wise one, "You can play a cert." Ultimately, it's a collectible guitar in collector quality condition and if you happen to be looking for an example with a ridiculously low number, then this here is your gal. As with everything we sell, it will arrive detailed to the nines, set- up, restrung with fresh strings and ready to play. That's all because it's the way we think things should be in the world of service. Don't you? As an added bonus, there are Barney Rubble stamps in the neck pocket and that makes the guitar worth the price of admission alone...
