A super-popular master guitar builder who has a deep knowledge of vintage and is known as a legendary master builder, along with the late John English. The 1957 Stratocaster was created when Chris Fleming, the master engineer in charge of the current Fender custom shop, was a senior master builder. Made in 2007, comes complete with all original hangs tags and signed Certificate of Authenticity. A super rare and collectible Custom Shop Strat from their best Master Builder.
“1957 V” a subtle V profile, 9.5” fingerboard radius and 21 narrow frets. Hand-wound ’57 pickups with reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup are wired up to a five-way switch and ’50s wiring on a single-ply parchment pickguard.
The guitar is one of the best sounding Strat’s we’ve had the pleasure of selling, such a resonant guitar, as close you’ll get to an old ’57. In superb condition, completely original and ready to ship!

Chris Fleming was born in Long Beach, California, and grew up in Orange County, California, not far from the first Fender factory during the surf music and folk/country rock era in Southern California. A guitar player since the age of 8, Fleming started working on repairing and modifying instruments in the 1980s, and began work at a repair shop in Long Beach in the ’90s. He got his foundation in instrument design and repair and restoration while working on guitars and other stringed instruments during this time. Fleming joined Fender in 2000 as a guitar builder in the Custom Shop. His first assignment was as the Master Builder assistant to Custom Shop trailblazers John English, Alan Hamel and Fred Stuart.Since then, Fleming has held a variety of positions with Fender that have allowed him to further hone his skills, including Master Builder Apprentice, Chief Engineer, Guitar R&D, Director of Build standards and OEM Manufacturing, and most recently the Director of Custom Operations for all FMIC custom brands.After 20 years, Fleming is happy to be back where it all began – building Custom Fender instruments in the Dream Factory.”

The guitars all go through the 12th Fret workshop for servicing and setting up prior to being listed on the website and our Reverb Shop and can be adjusted to suit your setup requirements before shipping. All the guitars are very well packed and shipped within a day of purchase. All guitars are available to view & demo at the showroom based in East Sussex. We are able to offer part exchange on most items for sale.
