Fender Custom / Shop Stratocaster Eric Clapton Mercedes Blue / 2005 / Guitar

One of the first associations with the word Stratocaster is for many people Eric Clapton, which is quite an achievement for someone who solely played Gibson guitars during his rise to fame and around the time fans called him god himself. But Clapton had seen Buddy Guy playing a Strat and though that that was the sound he was looking for. Steve Winwood and Jimi Hendrix becoming avid Strat users was the only conformation he needed.  The Derek and the Dominoes album may be the ultimate Clapton Strat album with Layla being its absolute highlight. Clapton started using the Stratocaster with iconic Strats like 'Brownie' and 'Blackie' being his favorite workhorses for years. Fender approached Clapton in the '80s to discuss creating a signature guitar. Clapton had a few odd modifications including a Martin V-shaped neck and an overdrive circuit. This signature Stratocaster was the first for Fender and was the strat, eh start of a collaboration that lasts until this day.  This Eric Clapton Signature Strat is from 2005 and finished in Mercedes Blue and is in very good condition. There are dings on the backside, on the edge of the belly cut, a few lacquer blemishes and chip on the upper horn and lacquer chip on the back at the lower horn. The frets have some wear, but still have many miles too go. It has definitely seen use in the last decade which is not that odd because it's a very good strat with excellent playability. The V-neck seems odd at first contact but plays surprisingly comfortable. The sound is classic strat with perhaps a bit more high end due to the TBX preamp and is so very versatile, with every shade of overdrive at your fingers disposal.  Model: Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster Finish: Mercedes Blue Top Material:   Body Material: Alder Lefty No Body Details: Single-ply white pickguard Neck Material: Maple Neck Profile: Soft V-shape Fingerboard Material: Maple Fingerboard Radius: 9,5” Neck Details: Black dot inlays Nutwidth: 42 mm - 1 5/8" Scale Length: 648 mm - 25 1/2" Bridge: Vintage style tremolo Tailpiece: - Pickups: Vintage Noiseless Tuners: Kluson Style Controls: Volume, 2 Tone, 5-way switch, TBX, mid-boost Weight: 3,54kg Condition: Very good Cosmetic Condition: Dings on the backside, on the edge of the belly cut, lacquer blemishes and chip on the upper horn and lacquer chip on the back at the lower horn. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand.
