Fender / Custom Telecaster Bigsby / 1968 / Sunburst / Guitar

The Custom Telecaster was a fancier version of the Telecaster that was produced by Fender from 1959 until 1968. This model had a Sunburst finish and a double-boud alder body. In the summer of 1967 a factory Bigsby vibrato option was added.
This Custom Telecaster w/ Bigsby from 1968 is in excellent condition and has a great neck with very pronounced ‘birds-eye’ figuring. The hardware, pickguard and pickups are original to this guitar. The sound is beautiful, it nails the for vintage Teles typical compressed, sparkling and slightly hoarse/nasal bridge pickup sound. The mild, bassy yet very defined neck pickup is a great contrast and the mid position is very complex sounding. The neck is not very wide at the nut but has a nicely rounded, almost U-shaped profile. It’s shaped very regularly and feels great. A fantastic guitar that even at an age of 47 years still comes across as very luxurious and dignified guitar.

- Finish: original ‘Thick Skin’ polyurethane
- Modifications: Filled screw hole in headstock front where a second string tree was added and removed again, repaired finish damage on rear edge of body, slightly enlarged neck pickup route (according to the previous owner a Strat pickup was placed in the neck position but the original pickup was reinstalled), minor repaired damage on lower edge on the back.
- Case: original black Tolex covered case with Fender logo.
