I think my favorite feature on these Geddy Lee Jazz basses is the thin, slim neck profile. As a younger bassist, with no cares in the world, I'd strap on a 70's P- bass with a neck like an anaconda and a weight of about 11 pounds without a second thought. And, at the end of the night, I'd climb up on top of the P.A. and jump off to much aplomb, but as time has passed me by, I have gradually moved to lighter basses with slimmer necks. Lighter weight because my back looks and feels like a crooked railroad track and a slimmer neck profile because it's easier on my left hand over the course of a night. This bass fills both requirements and has a great, standard Jazz tone. Nice, round bottoms with a super mid bark in case I want to give my best, amateurish stab at a little Jaco (that's usually a train wreck as well). This particular Jazz also falls into another very convenient category and that is of an instrument that you can lean up against the wall when you're finished with practice or a show. There are some dings and scratches, which lets me know that it has more than adequately performed it's bass duties in the last 3 years. It comes in a gigbag, so you'll be mobile from the moment it arrives and the price sits right in the pocket for a budget- minded, working bassist.
