This is a fabulous early production Custom Color “3 Knob” Jazz Bass from Fender’s earliest & best era, its ultra rare Fiesta Red finish is beautiful having an extremely clean front w/some slight buckle wear on its back, it is still very “Pink” as most yellow out to an orange-like color, its unbound Clay Dot inlaid early Slab-Rosewood fingerboard feels simply delicious, its pencil dated 1/62, its pretty tortoise’gard pulls this all together, its 2 pickups are super punchy & have a deep bass tone unlike most Pre-CBS Jazz Basses, pot codes date to the 52nd week of 1961, its got the earliest type Jazz Bass logo with the “contour body” portion made all in 1 decal, other than some slight wear & some weather checking, its 100% original in all respects, it still retains its full set of string mutes & every single screw from new, this is truly one of the rarest & most valuable Fender Basses in the World, a true rare find early Custom Colored 3-knob of its type…delicious !, she is exceptionally clean overall & comes in its original Brown Tolex hard case.
