Fender / Jazz Bass / 1964 / Olympic White / Bass
Stunning near mint, pre-CBS Custom Colour Jazz bases are not that easy to come by, especially Olympic White ones where the clearcoat has not turned yellow. This is one of them and what a glowing example it is too…
100% original or correct and complete with its near mint original 1964 no logo case, this superb bass is one of the nicest ones we have had since our 1965 sonic blue that sold last year. The finish on this is especially nice and still retains a lot of the original milky whiteness it was born with which in our opinion, it a real treat to see for a change. Matching olympic white headstock is also rather nice and like the rest of the guitar has not faded very much at all.
All original hardware and electrics with totally undisturbed solder joints. Neck date of November 1964, serial number is late 64 and pots date to 1964 week 40 so all nicely matching and perfect numbers for you.
It is in pretty much near mint condition with a small area of buckle rash on the back and a few small dings around the edges mainly. It has a nice action, plays real well with zero wear on the original frets and zero wear on the lovely rosewood fingerboard.
Both pickups work really nicely together and are evenly balanced with all the cool varieties of tone that you expect to get from a great, vintage Jazz bass. I fail to see how anyone would be disappointed by the way this very cool bass plays, feels, sounds or looks!
So there you have it. A totally lush pre-CBS vintage Jazz bass in a Custom Colour with matching headstock, a most superb example too. What more could you ask for…
