Fender / Jazz Bass / 1968 / Sunburst / Bass For Sale

Sunburst, block inlays and a bucket full of mojo, this 1968 Fender Jazz Bass has it all!

Living its life undoubtedly in the lime-light, all over his bass there are signs of a life well lived. The body has worn wonderfully and as you'd expect faded to match. There is no sign of touchup. The control cavity has been widened slightly though this could be from the factory.

The neck has worn well too. Dated January 1968, the lacquer on the headstock has flaked a little and the back of the neck has worn comfortably. The frets have plenty of life left in them and the binding and inlays are in great condition.

The hardware is worn as you'd expect with some minor corrosion evident on the bridge.

Plastics are in good shape with little or no shrinkage to the guard.

Electronically everything is correct. Pots are dated week 42 of 1966. There has been some solder touch ups around the ground connections. The bass comes with a hardshell case.

Sonically this bass is fantastic. The neck pickup is warm without getting muddy whilst the bridge cuts through with that all important JB growl. Together the tone takes on a little more of a scooped feel that brings out a more mellow side to the bass.

A killer looking bass with tone to match. Is there anything better?
