The average weight 5-piece body was well matched and made from nicely figured alder. The neck is slim and very easily playable, the frets are still good. The neck is stamped by HERB G aka H. Gastelum, one of Fender's more famous employees who worked for Fender for decades and was specialized in neck production and shaping. Unfortunately the neck date stamp has faded and isn't readable anymore, but the serial number points to 1969 which is plausible for a Jazzmaster with these specs.
