Fender / Jeff Beck Stratocaster ** ON HOLD ** / 1993 / Seafoam Green / Guitar

I know this is a Jeff Beck signature Stratocaster and we all know of Jeff's fingerboard prowess. If you've ever played one of these guitars, then you know they have a Dirk Diggler- sized neck and I'm quite sure you also know of the TBX active circuitry. To further add to this guitar's desirability, please appreciate the color, which is Seafoam Green. Now, with all that being said, the real "story behind the story" is of a man completely bored one evening in the great state of Tennessee. Best I can remember, a really close friend (who will remain anonymous) called down to my hotel room after a long day at the Franklin Guitar Show and said to me, "Hey Man, you wanna come on up to my room and have a kooky seaweed- flavored vodka drink with me?" Me being tired, I thought to myself, "Yeah man. I sure needs something to knock off the day's edge and why not have a drink with my boy?" Well, three good ones into these oceanic- flavored, drinks of choice of Neptune, I, Lee "Dummy" Jackson looked at a guitar (Well, I am a guitar dealer, right?) and this is where it gets hazy. Anonymous friend: "Yeah right, not for nothing Jackson. This guitar is for you, just look at it. Check it man, this would look great on YOUR site." Me: "Awww yeah. That guitar looks sweet!" But, as you can see in the photos, either it's a one off, barroom JB special or it's taken a slight hit on the bohunkus. The guitar plays well and believe you me, the price is reflective of the boo-boo, but it isn't without a battle scar. You know, after this little mishap, Ray made me revisit the George Gruhn method of guitar buying 101. Chapter one, verse one; Never practice BGWUI or "buying a guitar under the influence" and as for my anonymous friend? We'll always be boys, but I need him to know that I have a cracked off headstock, Encore Explorer with his name all over it. Wow, don't they write country songs about situations like this?
