We are happy to present this Limited 50's Relic Stratocaster. Sonic Blue is nice, but... a 50's Strat in Sonic Blue? Well, think about a normal 2-Tone 50's Strat refinished (rather "oversprayed", which is how they did many custom colors back in the time) into Sonic Blue (with all the 60's craze). After years of use, the blue paint will wear out and let the original sunburst show through. Nice, huh?!
This was done beautifully by the Custom Shop in this Limited run of 100 guitars worldwide. It also has some unique specifications, like the 9.5'' radius (made for the 7.25'' sceptic), or the medium jumbo (go ahead and bend all you want) frets. The middle pickup's polarity has been inverted to cancel hum in positions 2 and 4. It also features modern wiring in the bridge pickup, so you can use the middle tone now on that one too.
The body is premium lightweight ash (guitar is 7 lbs 2.5 oz), and is finished with a very thin nitro lacquer. The final relic'ing job is very detailed -not too obvious-, with beautiful checking all over and some logic wear in exposed zones like the forearm rest, showing the original sunburst color through.
The pickups are Texas Specials from the Custom Shop, sounding quite different here than we've ever heard in any other guitar (like the SRV Artist Series... different story). The overall result defines what a Strat should sound like, and is among the best we've heard yet. Compensated, vibrant, rich, bell-like... spreading all different variations that compose the entirety of the Strat sound we know today throughout all 5 pickup positions, just as we'd expect in a guitar of this caliber.
The condition of the guitar is sensational, mint condition, hardly any fretwear and completely stock. Includes the Limited Edition OHSC and LTD COA, plus all the case candy and accessories.
This is a great chance to get a Strat with a montruous tone and jaw-dropping look, at an incredible price for any Limited Edition.
